Medium Voltage Program UGE-UGZ single-pole and double-pole indoor voltage transformers
UCE/UCZ indoor voltage transformers are used for measuring and protection purposes, especially in medium-voltage switch gear up to Um = 24 kV.
Safety by design
The voltage transformers of the UGE/UGZ series are encapsulated in an epoxy-resin housing, i.e. the primary and secondary windings and the leg core are embedded in a single operation, thus guaranteeing optimum insulation resistance.
The output terminals consist of an M5 terminal pair. One screw of each terminal can be used for direct earthing to the base plate. An M8 earthing terminal is located on the back of the transformer housing. The output terminals are protected against accidental contact by a sealable transparent cover in self-extinguishing polycarbonate.
UGE single-pole insulated voltage transformers: Primary and secondary windings are insulated from each other for 3 kV in accordance with the required power frequency withstand voltage. The primary winding is connected to earth via an M5 screw in the terminal box before leaving the factory.
For models with winding intended to produce a residue! voltage always ensure that when using an open delta system connection to earth is made at only one point of the open delta I
UGZ double-pole insulated voltage transformers: Primary ond secondary windings are insulated from each other according to the highest service voltage and the associated rated insulation levels. During the final inspection the transformers are subjected to a routine test in accordance with the relevant national and international standards such as VDE, IEC BS, ANSI etc..
