Cut gaskets

Cut gaskets are produced using a die cutting machine or a numerically controlled machine driving a cutting tool (oscillating or not).

We cut the seals in our standard plate formats and in all rubber grades described in Chapter 1-1 with a thickness tolerance of 1.0mm and very accurate physicochemical characteristics.

When the goal is to reduce costs, and that the thickness tolerance and material performance are low, rolls of calendared rubbers are more suitable.

Advantages

The molding of sheets and disks gives greater constancy of thickness with tolerances more accurate than those made from big sheets or rolls. To ensure traceability, all our blocks have a molded tab giving information such as:

  • the grade,
  • the batch number,
  • the thickness,
  • the date of vulcanization.

Dimensions

There is almost no limit to the shapes of such seals. We offer stamped seals in accordance with your samples or drawings, or sheets for customers wishing to manufacture their own gaskets.

Thickness of the standard formats:

  • From 0,2 to 50 mm in 300 x 300 mm
  • From 0,8 to 50 mm in 500 x 500 mm
  • From 4 to 30 mm in 600 x 600 mm
  • From 1 to 15mm in 800 x 800mm (according to the material)

All thicknesses cannot be produced in all qualities (contact us).

Options

Fabric insertion
It is usually Nylon® fabric from 0.1mm to 0.5mm with 1 or 2 folds depending on the thickness or 1 fold on each surface. It is also possible to use other types of fabric ( contact us). The fabric insertion improves the mechanical properties of the gaskets, such as the creep strength.

Adhering of PTFE
The bonding of elastomer to a PTFE sheet makes it possible to obtain a part having, on one side, the chemical inertness of the PTFE, and on the other side, the flexibility of the elastomer.

Fibre gaskets - graphite - rubber/cork gaskets

Stacem works with the company REINZ for the cutting of sealing elements of elastomer fiber materials, graphite, rubber cork… During the installation, the validation of the tightening can be confirmed by Fuji Films, plastic film incorporating color capsules breaking under the effect of pressure. According to the series and/or the material, the integration of an internal metal insert can be achieved, improving thereby the mechanical characteristics of the gaskets to creep.

AFM

The AFM products offer a wide range of materials based on aramid fiber, the selection being based on the application (temperature, pressure, fluid…), the system (flexibility or not of the material, clamping…), or the required approvals (Gas, water, FDA, marine, petrochemical…). The flagship product of this range is the AFM 34, combining high chemical performance while maintaining excellent mechanical characteristics of creep. In most cases the AFM 34 can easily be used to replace CAF materials (containing asbestos). Standard size of the sheets 1500 x 1500 mm, also available in 1500X4500 mm.

Fiber reinforced elastomer : AFM 34 IGV and AFM 34 METALL
While maintaining the chemical or elastic qualities of the AFM 34, the mechanical stability of these products is reinforced with a metallic structure made of galvanized steel (AFM 34 IGV) or stainless steel (AFM 34 METALL).

  • AFM 34 IGV: Standard size of the sheets 1500 x 1500 mm, also available in 1500X4500 mm.
  • AFM 34 METALL: Size of the sheets 1250X1500 mm.

PTFE: REINZOFLON E
REINZOFLON E consists of pure PTFE with excellent chemical resistance to aggressive media. It is a soft material and therefore particularly adaptable.

  • Size of the sheets: 1500 x1500 mm.

Carbon fiber material: AFM 44
AFM 44 has a very good temperature resistance together with high mechanical strength, as shown by its high values for residual stress and tensile strength.

  • Standard size of the sheets 1500 x 1500 mm, also available in 1500X4500 mm.

Graphite: CHEMOTHERM SP and CHEMOTHERM SPE
CHEMOTHERM is characterized by exceptionally good chemical and thermal resistance, high compressibility, good gas sealability. The tanged core, in galvanized steel (CHEMOTHERM SP) or in stainless steel (CHEMOTHERM SPE) guarantees excellent resistance against blow-out at high pressures.

  • Rolls up to 500 mm wide.

Mica: Xtreme plus
Due to the use of mica and the heat-resistant 1.4828 mm stainless steel core, Xtreme withstands high temperatures up to 950 °C. Xtreme plus is resistant to media such as oils, fuels, exhaust gases, antifreeze and many others.

  • Rolls up to 500 mm wide, thickness 1,2 mm and 1,6 mm.

Cork: RGC
RGC 210, RGC 257 et RGC 275 consist of cork bonded with nitrile rubber, and are resistant to oils and fuels, ensure high compressibility and recovery. RGC 749 consists of a foamed mixture of chloroprene rubber and cork. This material is resistant to oils and fatigue – features high compressibility combined with dimensional stability and extremely high recovery.

  • Size of sheets 914 x 914 mm.
