Robust emergency signage luminaire
The Ex-Lite series of explosion-proof emergency luminaires meets the requirements of the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU and the EN 60598 standard, Section 2.22 for emergency lighting luminaires. These luminaires are designed to mark escape routes and exits in potentially explosive atmospheres. Only high-efficiency LEDs are used as light sources in these luminaires. This ensures maintenance-free operation, as the light sources are positioned to ensure the full life of the luminaire. The power supplies are also designed for the same durability; the LED circuits are intrinsically safe.
A wide input voltage range allows for worldwide use. The housing of these luminaires is made of resistant materials. These luminaires meet the highest standards for emergency signage. Thanks to their very robust construction and high level of protection, these luminaires are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, even in extreme conditions. As an emergency lighting luminaire, they can also be used in a battery-powered system.
The Ex-Lite N is equipped with an NC battery and an automatic status monitoring function with an operating time of up to 1 hour.
Thanks to the optional built-in V-CG-S module, with coding for up to 20 addresses, this luminaire can also be used as a standalone emergency lighting luminaire and connected to a central system compliant with CEAG. This allows the operator to control the luminaire's operation according to the relevant requirements. This allows up to 20 luminaires with different switching modes to be connected to a single circuit.
The "Ex-Lite" and "Ex-Lite Z" series emergency luminaires are available as network luminaires, for example, for highly protected industrial networks in oil and gas production, as "Ex-Lite V-CG-S" – emergency luminaires with individual monitoring functions in CEAG emergency power supply systems, as well as "Ex-Lite N" and "Ex-Lite ZE" – emergency luminaires with their own battery power supply and automatic function and operating time testing.
Due to its robust, highly resistant housing with an IP66 degree of protection, the Ex-Lite luminaire can be installed both indoors and outdoors. The luminaire is designed for Ex e protection class II T6 to T6 and Ex tb IIIC T80°C, in accordance with the requirements of the ATEX directive. It can be used in potentially explosive atmospheres (zones 1 and 2) and areas with explosive dust (zones 21 and 22).
The Ex-Lite series of explosion-proof emergency luminaires meets the requirements of the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU and EN 60598, Part 2.22 for emergency luminaires. These luminaires are suitable for marking escape routes and emergency exits. The luminaire housing is made of high-quality materials, and the luminaires meet the highest standards.
The white LED light source allows for operation without the need to replace the light source throughout the luminaire's lifespan. The required lighting power remains constant throughout the LED's lifespan, which is approximately 50,000 hours. It's worth noting that the power supplies are also designed for this exceptionally long life. This reduces operating costs and increases safety, especially in hard-to-reach areas.
The Ex-Lite series LED emergency exit luminaires are designed to meet the requirements of a wide range of safety concepts. Thanks to their wide input voltage range of 110 V to 277 V AC and up to 250 V DC, these luminaires can be used internationally – the LED power supplies are inherently safe.
The international "IECEx" certification expands the luminaire's application range.
The Ex-Lite Z and Ex-Lite ZE versions are also available in a special version for use in compliance with NEC requirements.
The luminaire has a visibility range of 25 meters and is available with a wide range of pictograms, allowing for the creation of solutions tailored to country requirements.
When it comes to the operational safety of explosion-proof emergency luminaires and luminaires with exit signs, there is no room for compromise, because only a luminaire that operates reliably at all times can save lives.
The new series of explosion-proof LED luminaires not only meets all technical requirements but also complies with legal requirements for emergency and safety lighting installations. The new Ex-Lite shows the right path even in the most difficult and hazardous conditions.
Central emergency power supply using CEAG systems (group or battery power supply) is used where a large number of emergency luminaires can be connected and operated as a system. These types of battery power supply systems are typically installed outside of hazardous areas, so they are not exposed to the harsh environmental conditions of outdoor luminaires. As a result, their operating time is longer and maintenance requirements are minimal.
The main and emergency luminaires in this series are powered by separate circuits from the emergency power supply system to luminaires located in explosion-hazardous areas. Various luminaires with the V-CG-S module can be used in these circuits.
In addition to the standard Ex-Lite use as a network luminaire – for example, in highly protected industrial networks – the Ex-Lite V-CG-S version is available with a monitoring function.
When combined with the V-CG-S monitoring module and coding for up to 20 addresses, this luminaire can operate as an emergency luminaire with individual monitoring.
The operator can program switching modes as required, enabling the operation of up to 20 luminaires with different switching modes on a single circuit.
No additional installation work is required. The central unit monitors all luminaire functions, checks the LEDs for short circuits or interruptions, and indicates faults directly on the display.
Even with very complex installations, diagnosing and troubleshooting is easy.
Another important advantage: functional and runtime tests are performed automatically and reported to the central unit. This saves time and money.
During testing, the luminaire's correct operation is verified, and in the event of a fault, a report is sent to the central unit. For comparison, LED group failures are also automatically reported.
Emergency lighting luminaires with their own power source (battery) do not require a central power source but are powered by independent, decentralized systems. These luminaires are particularly suitable for retrofits and large industrial facilities.
Previously, a drawback of self-powered luminaires was their limited monitoring capabilities. This feature has now been integrated into Ex-Lite N emergency exit luminaires.
Five green LEDs indicate the battery charge status in 20% increments. A yellow LED indicates emergency operation, and an additional red LED indicates errors.
Extended self-monitoring with an automatic function and a partial duty cycle test is now possible.
A new version with a temperature range of -40 °C to +50 °C is available for the Ex-Lite LT,
and from -40 °C to +40 °C for the Ex-Lite NLT.
This means that requirements for countries with very low temperatures can now be met.
A special heating system allows the Ex-Lite NLT to be safely charged/discharged, even at temperatures below the physical limit of -10 °C.

The international "IECEx" certification expands the luminaire's application range.
The Ex-Lite Z and Ex-Lite ZE versions are also available in a special version for use in compliance with NEC requirements.
The luminaire has a visibility range of 25 meters and is available with a wide range of pictograms, allowing for the creation of solutions tailored to country requirements.
When it comes to the operational safety of explosion-proof emergency luminaires and luminaires with exit signs, there is no room for compromise, because only a luminaire that operates reliably at all times can save lives.
The new series of explosion-proof LED luminaires not only meets all technical requirements but also complies with legal requirements for emergency and safety lighting installations. The new Ex-Lite shows the right path even in the most difficult and hazardous conditions.
Central emergency power supply using CEAG systems (group or battery power supply) is used where a large number of emergency luminaires can be connected and operated as a system. These types of battery power supply systems are typically installed outside of hazardous areas, so they are not exposed to the harsh environmental conditions of outdoor luminaires. As a result, their operating time is longer and maintenance requirements are minimal.
The main and emergency luminaires in this series are powered by separate circuits from the emergency power supply system to luminaires located in explosion-hazardous areas. Various luminaires with the V-CG-S module can be used in these circuits.
In addition to the standard Ex-Lite use as a network luminaire – for example, in highly protected industrial networks – the Ex-Lite V-CG-S version is available with a monitoring function.
When combined with the V-CG-S monitoring module and coding for up to 20 addresses, this luminaire can operate as an emergency luminaire with individual monitoring.
The operator can program switching modes as required, enabling the operation of up to 20 luminaires with different switching modes on a single circuit.
No additional installation work is required. The central unit monitors all luminaire functions, checks the LEDs for short circuits or interruptions, and indicates faults directly on the display.
Even with very complex installations, diagnosing and troubleshooting is easy.
Another important advantage: functional and runtime tests are performed automatically and reported to the central unit. This saves time and money.
During testing, the luminaire's correct operation is verified, and in the event of a fault, a report is sent to the central unit. For comparison, LED group failures are also automatically reported.
Emergency lighting luminaires with their own power source (battery) do not require a central power source but are powered by independent, decentralized systems. These luminaires are particularly suitable for retrofits and large industrial facilities.
Previously, a drawback of self-powered luminaires was their limited monitoring capabilities. This feature has now been integrated into Ex-Lite N emergency exit luminaires.
Five green LEDs indicate the battery charge status in 20% increments. A yellow LED indicates emergency operation, and an additional red LED indicates errors.
Extended self-monitoring with an automatic function and a partial duty cycle test is now possible.
A new version with a temperature range of -40 °C to +50 °C is available for the Ex-Lite LT,
and from -40 °C to +40 °C for the Ex-Lite NLT.
This means that requirements for countries with very low temperatures can now be met.
A special heating system allows the Ex-Lite NLT to be safely charged/discharged, even at temperatures below the physical limit of -10 °C.
