Type B leakage current relays

The X…DB3 series leakage current relays are designed to measure DC, AC, and high-frequency leakage currents. Thanks to the function of displaying the current leakage current value, continuous monitoring of the insulation condition is possible. This allows predicting its inevitable wear and planning maintenance and revitalization, which helps avoid unexpected power outages and emergency situations.

X48DSA series leakage current relays

Designed to measure leakage or unbalanced losses caused by currents or wire insulation equipment. It reacts when set limits are exceeded by disconnecting the faulty system from the power supply.

The occurrence of leakage causes a difference in currents between the "supply" and "return" wires. This is the so-called differential current, which can be measured using a Ferranti transformer.

If the insulation is damaged, leakage appears and the inequality of currents induces a voltage in the secondary winding of the transformer. The value of this voltage is evaluated by the measurement circuits of the differential relay and forms the basis for signaling the leakage level and triggering an alarm.
