Film Capacitor

Film capacitor – is a capacitor with a dielectric made of plastic materials – most commonly polypropylene, metallized polypropylene, or polyester. Capacitors with plastic dielectrics are characterized by low loss, resulting from low electrode resistance and high insulation resistance. In these capacitors, it is possible to achieve high currents (several thousand Amperes) and rated voltages (tens of thousands of volts), which allows them to be used in power electronics systems as commutation, damping, and filtering capacitors, as well as in reactive power compensation devices, induction heating generators, and high-voltage systems.
