Products that are marked "On Order" in the "Available Quantity" column are usually not in stock. Such products are available for purchase, however, due to their limited customer base, they usually have higher minimum quantities. DACPOL offers products that are not in stock for the following reasons: DACPOL currently has a large number of electronic components in stock and adds new products every day, however, tens of thousands of additional components and their various variants are available from our suppliers. Even though it is unreasonable to have all these products in stock due to the limited sales, we believe that it is in the best interest of our customers to make them available. Our goal is to inform customers about the maximum number of products available and enable them to make decisions based on specifications, prices, availability, required minimums and our technical advice. Please note that selecting the "In Stock" checkbox may limit the display to only products available for delivery straight from the shelf.

Our offer includes various types of varistors from leading manufacturers. Due to their producers, our products are distinguished by high quality and long service life. Varistors are used in many branches of industry. The parameters of our devices match those in the manufacturers' datasheets, which translates into safe operation of the installations in which they are used.

What is a varistor?

A varistor is a semiconductor electronic component with a nonlinear resistance characteristic that depends on voltage. At low voltages, it has a high resistance in the range of hundreds of kΩ; when the voltage rises to a value characteristic for a given varistor type, the resistance decreases to several Ω.

Where are varistors used?

Varistors are used to protect receivers against excessive voltage. When the voltage exceeds a specified value, a large current flows through the varistor, absorbing the energy of the impulse and even blowing the fuse. This causes the device to shut down. Varistors can act as surge limiters, as their low resistance caused by a lightning-induced voltage allows current to freely flow to the ground.

Varistors can be used in:

  • power line protection,
  • surge and high-voltage protectors,
  • lightning arresters,
  • transformer protection,
  • protection of telecommunication devices: modems, phones,
  • overvoltage protection.

The E60 and E80 varistor series is mainly intended for industrial applications, offering ideal surge protection in traffic control devices, railway and tram traction, power transmission devices, and mining equipment. The varistor housing provides protection against vibrations, air pollution, and moisture.
