Batteries and Backup Power Supplies for Special Tasks

The battery, charger, buffer power supply, and inverter division offers not only a rich product range, aimed at virtually all areas of broadly understood industry, but also services in battery servicing and disposal, installation of new power systems, and UPS power supply repairs.

VRLA and SLA Batteries

We offer, among others, maintenance-free VRLA (Valve Regulated Lead-Acid) batteries, also known as SLA (Sealed Lead-Acid batteries). These are sealed lead-acid batteries equipped with safety valves that release excess gases in case of overcharging.

AGM Batteries

AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) batteries are ideal for buffer applications. This means they are continuously charged with a small current and can serve as the main power source for a short time in case of power loss. The electrolyte is absorbed in a glass mat between the plates. Their low internal resistance allows short-term high current draws. AGM batteries are also used in buffer power supplies, emergency power systems, UPS units, etc.

Battery Service and Replacement

We provide services related to the selection of guaranteed power systems. We offer solutions based on uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) – installation, commissioning, and calibration of new systems. We also service existing power systems, replace batteries, and provide disposal of used batteries. Additionally, we repair faulty UPS units.

Victron Energy Inverters

The inverter/converter is the most important part of a photovoltaic installation, responsible for converting the current generated in solar panels into electricity usable by household appliances.

Inverters are complex devices with multiple input and output circuits. The reliability of a photovoltaic system depends on the inverter’s operation. This component is most prone to failure, and if it is damaged, the system stops working.

Types of UPS Power Supplies

  • Emergency power supply, uninterruptible power supply, UPS – its function is to maintain power to other devices during a power outage or poor mains power conditions. UPS systems are used to power computers, servers, and equipment that requires uninterrupted operation, such as medical devices.
  • “Offline” UPS – in this solution, the power source switch is set to use AC input as the main power source. When needed, the batteries are automatically trickle-charged. Only during a failure should it switch to battery power. This approach offers high efficiency, compact size, and low cost.
  • “Online” UPS – in this solution, the output circuit is isolated from the input voltage. It works via double conversion: first the voltage is rectified, then fed to the inverter to convert it back to AC. This ensures the output is completely immune to disturbances. This solution is more expensive than offline types due to its more complex design.
  • Buffer power supply is the simplest emergency power system. It protects selected devices from power grid disturbances that could cause malfunction. Using such a power supply ensures operational stability, continuity of power, and high resistance to voltage fluctuations and power grid disturbances. It supports currents up to 40 A. The downside is its large size due to the built-in battery.
