GTEM chambers are the equivalent of TEM waveguides with an upper frequency limit extended into the GHz range. This solution can be considered as an alternative measurement unit for both radiated emissions and immunity testing, as specified by the IEC 61000-4 family of standards. GTEM chambers (Giga-hertz Transversal Electro-Magnetic cells) are waveguide structures designed for electromagnetic compatibility measurements as well as biomedical applications. The electromagnetic field distribution inside the chamber is in TEM mode. During propagation, no component of the electric or magnetic field exists in the direction of wave propagation, and therefore the field components are strictly perpendicular. Assuming an ideal TEM field distribution below the cell’s cutoff frequency (before higher-order modes are introduced), the electromagnetic field distribution can be considered static.

The GTEM series features high configurability and accessory options to meet the expectations of laboratories and test stations.
