Reverse osmosis systems are an increasingly popular water filtration solution. This type of device allows water to be separated from dissolved substances without the use of any chemicals. Under pressure, water passes through an osmotic membrane, which allows only pure H2O molecules to pass through. Any contaminants are too large to pass through the micropores of the membrane.
