Products that are marked "On Order" in the "Available Quantity" column are usually not in stock. Such products are available for purchase, however, due to their limited customer base, they usually have higher minimum quantities. DACPOL offers products that are not in stock for the following reasons: DACPOL currently has a large number of electronic components in stock and adds new products every day, however, tens of thousands of additional components and their various variants are available from our suppliers. Even though it is unreasonable to have all these products in stock due to the limited sales, we believe that it is in the best interest of our customers to make them available. Our goal is to inform customers about the maximum number of products available and enable them to make decisions based on specifications, prices, availability, required minimums and our technical advice. Please note that selecting the "In Stock" checkbox may limit the display to only products available for delivery straight from the shelf.

EMC Ventilation Opening Shielding: The Key to Compromise Between Ventilation and Shielding Integrity

In modern electronic enclosures, especially those operating with high power or in an environment full of electromagnetic interference (EMC), maintaining the appropriate temperature is just as important as ensuring the integrity of the shielding. Unfortunately, ventilation openings and vents, necessary for cooling, constitute potential gateways for the leakage and ingress of electromagnetic interference. To prevent this, advanced methods of EMC Ventilation Opening Shielding are used, which allow for free airflow while simultaneously blocking electromagnetic waves. This is a critical element of EMC Protection, without which even the best-designed enclosure can lose its effectiveness.

Ventilation shielding panels/honeycombs: Industry standard

The most commonly used and highly effective solution are ventilation shielding panels/honeycombs. Their design is based on the principle of a waveguide below cutoff frequency. These panels consist of thousands of small, hexagonal or round cells that act as miniature waveguides. While air can flow freely through the cells, electromagnetic waves with a wavelength greater than the cell diameter are effectively attenuated. The greater the cell depth in relation to its diameter (the so-called L/D ratio), the higher the attenuation level, reaching even 100 dB. Ventilation shielding panels of this construction are indispensable in anechoic chambers, server rooms, and military equipment, where the highest protection is required.

Ventilation grilles with dust protection and their role

In environments where, in addition to EMC interference, dust and contaminants are also a problem, ventilation grilles with dust protection are used. Although traditional dust filters do not provide EMC shielding, they are often integrated with honeycomb panels to ensure double protection: mechanical and electromagnetic. This combination is crucial in industrial sectors, where dust can lead to short circuits and damage, while EMC interference can destabilize control systems. The correct application of such a solution requires that the dust filter does not compromise the conductive connection of the ventilation panel to the enclosure.

Ventilation and filter sets: Comprehensive approach

To simplify assembly and ensure a complete solution, designers often reach for ventilation and filter sets. These are ready-made modules that integrate all necessary elements: the ventilation shielding panel (often honeycomb), EMC conductive gaskets, and sometimes also dust protection. These types of sets, including specialized ventilation shielding panels, are designed for specific cutouts in the enclosure and are supplied with complete mounting hardware. Their use minimizes the risk of assembly error, ensuring ease of installation and repeatability of high shielding parameters. These sets are particularly popular in the serial production of devices, where both quality and speed of implementation matter.
