LEM company was established in 1982 and is a world leader in the market, producing high-quality current transducers. It is a global organization with manufacturing plants in China (Beijing), Switzerland (Geneva), Japan (Tokyo), and Bulgaria (Sofia), as well as sales centers around the world.
Applications of the products
All products have many different application options, including: automotive, industrial power supply, AC/DC transducers, electrical systems, converters, inverters, voltage converters, robots, power supplies, welders, traction drives, electrical and traction substations, micro turbines, renewable energy (wind, solar), electric vehicle chargers. Additionally, the company also produces integrators for Rogowski coils, sensors for smart batteries, and energy measurement devices.
LEM company has received ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certificates and undertakes actions for environmental protection.
It operates in accordance with the RoHS directive on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment, WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment – disposal of electrical and electronic waste), and Conflict Minerals, which obliges EU companies importing tin, tantalum, tungsten, and gold to ensure that their supply chains do not include entities that may finance armed conflict.
What are LEM transducers?
LEM transducers are classified as electronic devices designed for measuring electric current or voltage flowing through circuits and conductors. Their task is to convert them into an appropriate output signal that allows determination of their values. They are constructed to guarantee the highest possible measurement accuracy within a given range.
LEM company — leading manufacturer of current transducers
The Geneva-based LEM company with over 50% market share in the global production of solutions for current and voltage measurement has been offering innovative solutions for more than 50 years, meeting the requirements of various industries. Its transducers stand out for high measurement accuracy, even when used in adverse environmental conditions, and can be used for measuring both low and high currents. Thus, they are universal components used in various installations. Additionally, LEM transducers feature high resistance to electromagnetic interference (EMC), and thanks to their advanced design, they provide very low energy losses.
LEM constantly introduces new, innovative products, including solutions for electric vehicles and energy storage systems. This makes the manufacturer’s range perfectly responsive to the ever-changing market needs.
LEM transducers available in DACPOL's offer
In the DACPOL offer, you will find contactless LEM transducers from the AP series with an 18 mm diameter designed for current measurement in control systems ranging from 10 A up to even 400 A, which can be switched. They implement this based on the patented PRIME® technology (Planar Rogowski I Measurement). They are characterized by accuracy higher than 0.8% and immunity to saturation caused by excessive currents.
The supply voltage of these components can be either 12 V or 24 V. Additionally, the LEM brand also offers transducers that can be powered by both voltages depending on the needs.
All components from the Geneva manufacturer are intended for electronic measurement of sinusoidal currents. They are equipped with galvanic isolation between the primary and secondary circuits. This minimizes overvoltages and ensures high safety of use. Furthermore, their housings are made of plastics that guarantee insulation in accordance with the UL 94-V0 standard. They are designed to be mounted on DIN rails as well as on panels. Their split-core construction, which divides LEM transducers into two parts, allows them to be used without the need to disconnect primary circuits and stop system operation.
Depending on the selected model, LEM offers switchable RMS voltage output (root mean square) in its AP transducers, which in the components are:
- AP B10 voltage output and can be 0-5 V and 0-10 V
- AP B420L current output and can be 4-20 mA.
They are powered by a loop power supply, so they do not require an additional power source necessary for their proper operation.
Where can LEM transducers from the AP series be used?
LEM transducers from the AP series can be used in automation systems, where they allow the realization of analog current readings during remote monitoring of installation operation, including those based on renewable energy sources.
They also work very well in panel meters, to which they can be easily connected. Thanks to this, they are also used in the energy industry and various automation installations.
Additionally, LEM transducers from the AP series can be used in the automotive industry. They are excellent for monitoring current in electric vehicles and chargers intended for them.
