General information

Diode, diode-tyristor and thyristor modular blocks consist of semiconductor elements in lozenge housings mounted in a suitable heat sink assembly suitable for forced air or water cooling.

Due to the applied semiconductor device layout, modules with the following connections are offered:

  • series or series with the center leading out;
  • reciprocating (with shorted anodes or cathodes);
  • parallel;
  • counter-parallel.

The basic factor affecting the quality and durability of modular blocks is their proper assembly and the use of electrically suitable diodes and thyristors. In case of series or parallel connection, the appropriate selection of installed devices is required. Requirements can be fulfilled best by module block manufacturer.



Technical specification

Offered modular units are designed to work in power electronic converter systems in normal operation conditions i.e:

  • ambient air temperature from -10 °C up to +40 °C;
  • cooling water temperature at inlet from +5 °C up to +30 °C with ambient air temperature not lower than -10 °C;
  • atmospheric pressure from 860 up to 1060 hPa;
  • relative humidity of no more than 80% at 40 °C;
  • cooling air without chemically aggressive agents or conductive fluids;
  • cooling water with a resistivity of not less than 5 x 105 W/cm, pH of 5 to 8 and hardness of not more than 80 mg CaCO3/dm3;
  • AC voltage frequency from 45 Hz to 500 Hz.

The use of modular blocks made by the supplier guarantees correct installation and facilitates maintenance and repair of power electronic equipment.
