Explosion isolation in electrical equipment in ex zones on the example of flameproof covers

Electrical equipment intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres should be designed to protect the equipment against the possibility of ignition of the surrounding explosive mixture - both during normal operation and in a disturbance state. One of the methods of protection is to isolate the potential source of ignition from the hazardous explosive atmosphere, which is reflected in the flameproof enclosures (protection type Ex d). The idea is to use a casing that can withstand the pressure of the explosion inside it without damage and effectively prevents the transmission of the explosion, which is achieved through the use of extinguishing gaps with appropriate openings.

The webinar discusses the subject of flameproof in terms of legal requirements, the structure itself and the application of this type of protection in electrical devices. The whole will be enriched with photos of real productions and films.
