Thermostats – what are they?
Thermostats are components of a control system that maintain a constant temperature. Such a system contains measuring elements as well as circuits that switch cooling or heating devices on and off. A thermostat, aside from being a component of a system, can be a complete device whose purpose is to control the temperature so that it remains at a constant level. A thermostat that is a complete device has a control system as well as a cooling or heating system.
What are hygrostats used for?
Hygrostats are devices that can be called humidity sensors. Their use allows for controlling a humidifier in such a way that the humidity in a given environment is maintained at a strictly defined and constant level. This device acts as a kind of safeguard, protecting against excessive moisture in a room. There are two types of hygrostats: mechanical and electronic. A better choice is an electronic hygrostat, which is much more accurate than its mechanical counterpart.
