Thermal Relays
Categories
In our offer, we have many types of thermal relays from leading manufacturers. Our products, due to the manufacturers, are characterized by high quality and long durability. Thermal relays are used in many branches of industry. The parameters of our devices correspond to those in the manufacturers' datasheets, which translates into operational safety of the installations in which they are installed.
What is a thermal relay?
Thermal relays are used to protect electric motors, transformer windings, or power electronic components. During operation, a motor may be overloaded due to excessive mechanical load, e.g., cutting wet wood or a drop in supply voltage. Prolonged increase in current consumption can damage the motor due to overheating. A thermal relay is a device that protects the motor from overheating effects.
How is a thermal relay constructed?
A thermal relay uses PTC or RTD (Pt100) sensors. When the nominal temperature, which could threaten the device, is exceeded on the sensor, the relay detects this change and triggers an alarm and often disconnects the protected circuit.
