Features
• Connect serial devices to Ethernet • Direct IP, virtual COM port, or paired mode • Ethernet pass-through port available • Fiber Ethernet connectivity options • Serial MEI [Message Exchange Interface] ports Description VLINX™ VESR 9xx industrial serial Ethernet servers allow you to gain control of network devices. If the device has a serial port, it can be monitored and controlled from anywhere on an Ethernet LAN or WAN. You can configure your device to run at peak performance without leaving your office. Troubleshooting can also be done from outside your local network, via the internet. The easy-to-use Vlinx™ Manager software gives you access to your entire facility without leaving your office. This includes device configuration, firmware updates, and device performance monitoring. Configuration changes can also be made via a browser or TELNET console. A range of fiber optic options allows for quick integration with existing networks. There's no need to purchase an additional media converter when you can choose from multimode SC/ST, 15km singlemode SC/ST, 40km singlemode SC/ST, or 80km singlemode SC/ST. VESR92x series servers also feature an additional RJ45 port with twisted copper wire, allowing you to connect another Ethernet device or PC workstation. This pass-through port functions largely like a switch without management features. The test signal keeps the serial connection server connected to the network. If communication is lost, this feature will attempt to reconnect every five seconds until communication is restored. It is not necessary to manually reboot the device once communication is restored. |
